The Archives Department is the repository for the historical and administrative records of the Diocese of Baton Rouge. These records are arranged in a number of collections including: the records and papers of bishops, diocesan offices and consultative bodies; the historic records of parishes and schools; and Sacramental records.
Included among these collections are: photographs; audio visual materials; printed histories of parishes; programs from significant diocesan and parish events; maps and blueprints; artifacts and works of art.

Archdiocese of New Orleans
The Archdiocese of New Orleans encompasses 8 civil parishes: Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany and Washington.
Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux
The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux encompasses the civil parishes of Lafourche, St. Martin (only Morgan City), and Terrebonne.
Diocese of Lafayette
The Diocese of Lafayette encompasses 8 civil parishes: Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin (except Morgan City), St. Mary and Vermilion.
Diocese of Lake Charles
The Diocese of Lake Charles encompasses 5 civil parishes: Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis.
Diocese of Alexandria
The Diocese of Alexandria encompasses 13 civil parishes: Avoyelles, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, Franklin, Grant, LaSalle, Madison, Natchitoches, Rapides, Tensas, Vernon and Winn.

The Diocese of Shreveport encompasses 16 civil parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, East Carroll, Jackson, Lincoln, Morehouse, Ouachita, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Union, Webster and West Carroll.
