GIVE ~ PRAY ~ BLESS
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton is pleased to announce the launch of the Women's Giving Circle. The goal of this initiative is to create a community of philanthropically-minded Catholic women dedicated to raising awareness and funds for needs in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Designed as a giving circle, this group will leverage a pooled fund to have greater impact on the organizations they select.
Through faith sharing, collaboration, and collective giving, The Women’s Giving Circle seeks to promote philanthropy that glorifies God, empowers women, and compels action. The goal is to minister to the needs within the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
The Women’s Giving Circle is open to women of any age who want to have a meaningful impact on our Catholic Community. Members can join for $550.00 annually, and those wishing to sponsor another member can join for $1100.00 annually.

St. Katharine Drexel has been chosen as the saint to represent this group because she modeled a life of prayer, faithful stewardship, and service to the impoverished and under-served. Although she came from a family of wealth and prestige, she surrendered all material possessions to pursue her love of God and fellow man. She entered religious life on February 12, 1891, and founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. Throughout her life, she supported numerous missions and missionaries in the United States. She particularly had a passion for those that supported Native Americans and Afro-Americans. Her deep desire to equip these groups with religious education led her to establish and staff numerous schools throughout the US. One of these noteworthy schools is Xavier University, a historically black university in New Orleans. Aside from education, social justice was a driving force in her life. She heavily relied on the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to fight unpopular battles. St. Katharine was beatified on November 20, 1980, and canonized in October 2000. Her order continues to carry out her core values of celebrating the Eucharist, fighting for social equality, providing quality education to all, and embracing a Spirit-led life.
